DESCRIPTION:* BOOKINGS OPEN SOON *\nThe United Wards Club of the City of London was founded on 31 October 1877\, and we shall commemorate this at our Founders’ Day Dinner on 30th October 2026 at Glaziers Hall\, the only Livery Hall on the South side of the River Thames\, with breathtaking views across to the City of London.  This is one of the most important annual events in the Club calendar and we would encourage all members to attend. Guests are very welcome. Joining us will be the Chair\, Master and President respectively of the Royal Society of St George\, the Guild of Freemen and the City Livery Club together with their consorts. Our speaker will be Dhruv Patel CBE\, High Sheriff of Greater London and Past President of UWC \n\nTickets – £165\nA limited number of tickets are available for members at a discounted price of £150 on a first come first served basis. \nPlease note these are strictly for members only and members should ensure their non-member guests purchase full price tickets.\n\n\nBookings close:  15th October 2026 – No cancellations will be refunded after that date.\nA separate pour memoire will be sent by email to each attendee’s email address a few days prior to the event.\n\nEvent notes: \n\nTimings:  18:45 drinks reception for 19:30 dinner.  Carriages at 22:30\nDress code:  Black Tie\n\nA black dinner suit and black bow tie with white dress shirt for gentlemen\nA calf-length or long dress\, or an evening suit for ladies.\n\n\n\n\nPhotographs will be taken during the event\, and some may be added to our archives\, online. DESCRIPTION:* BOOKINGS OPEN SOON *\nMansion House is the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London\, located in the heart of the City of London. Built in the 1740s in the Palladian style by architect George Dance the Elder\, this Grade I listed building is renowned for its grand architecture and historical significance. \nGuided by a knowledgeable City of London Guide\, you’ll journey through beautifully preserved rooms and catch a glimpse of the exquisite Harold Samuel Collection. \nAccessibility note about Mansion House \nThe building is equipped with a ramp for easy access\, disabled toilet facilities\, a sound loop in the Egyptian Hall\, and lift access to all floors. However\, please note that much of the art collection is located on staircases\, which may make it challenging to view the entire collection. More detailed accessibility information is hosted on the Mansion House Events website. \nAfter the tour we will take the short 10 minute walk from Mansion House to Native at the King’s Wardrobe on Carter Lane\, right by where the United Wards Club was founded in 1877. DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the festive season\, the Events Calendar proposed a visit to Wilton Music Hall’s Potted Panto but unfortunately they aren’t showing that this year. But have no fear\, Brick Lane Music Hall – London Theatre is here \nOur friends at Tower and Farringdon Ward Clubs have offered UWC members places on their visits to the Brick Lane Panto in January. \nThe title – ‘Sleeping Beauty and the little prick’ – gives you a clue that this is a fairly adult version of a well known story! \nThe two options you can choose between are: \nFriday 22nd January with Tower Ward Club – lunch and matinee.  \n\nDoors open 12.15pm\nThree-course lunch (please select if you would like the meat or vegetarian option*) served at 1pm\nPanto starts at 2.30pm and finishes at approximately 5pm.\n\n  \nSaturday 23rd January with Farringdon Ward Club – dinner\, panto and dancing – dinner\, panto and dancing.  \n\nDoors open 5.15pm\nThree-course dinner (please select if you would like the meat or vegetarian option*) served at 6.30pm\nPanto starts at 8.15pm and finishes at approximately 10.30pm.\nThere will then be dancing until midnight.\n\nTransport: Brick Lane is a 5 to 10 minute walk from Pontoon Dock on the DLR\, and full details can be found at Find us – Brick Lane Music Hall \nAccessibility:  Brick Lane Music Hall has good level access\, and full details can be found at Parking & Accessibility – Brick Lane Music Hall \nThere are a limited number of places available for each option so please book early \nBookings close at 23:30 on 25 October at the request of our friends at Tower and Farringdon Ward Clubs
