I have now been in office six months how quickly time goes! It is such a privilege to represent the club at so many functions and events.
On the 4th July Teresa and I attended by kind invitation from The President and Officers of the City Livery Club their Civic Banquet at Goldsmiths’ Hall. This was a chance for us to enjoy the wonderful hall, pleasant company and great food. As you can see our assistant secretary Hannan (a member of the City Livery Club) was also in attendance looking good in a white tie.
Just two days later Teresa, Chris Edge & I attended the City of London Freemen’s School.
It was announced in the 2015-2016 journal the club is now making an annual award of £1,000 to fund or part fund one or more pupils to attend a suitable outside course for work experience placement. The award will rotate between science humanities and language over a three-year cycle; the school has discretion to nominate the recipient each year and in consultation with the recipient to select a suitable course which should take place during the ensuing academic year. This award was reduced to £500 by the Governing Body due to loss of income after the pandemic. I do hope in the near future we can revert back to the £1000, because it is a most worthwhile organisation.

We had our second Governing Body meeting of the year on the 19th July.
The events team met on 15th August.
