The United Wards Club of the City of London was founded on 31 October 1877, and we shall commemorate this at our Founders’ Day Dinner, which this year will be held at our President’s club, [redacted], St James’s, London SW1Y 5ER on Thursday 31st October.

Dress code: black tie with decorations

Guest of honour and keynote speaker: Alderman and Sheriff (elect) Greg Jones KC

Starter

• • Bresaola with sun blushed tomato, marinated artichokes and sweet roasted peppers, shaved pecorino and wild rocket leaves
  • Vegetarian: Lightly spiced chickpeas and moutabel, with grilled aubergine, courgette and artichokes, pomegranate seeds

Main

• • Confit Gressingham duck leg, seasonal vegetable parcel, duck fat roasted potatoes, redcurrant and tawny port
  • Vegetarian: Mushroom and chestnut en croute, olive oil mash, roasted root vegetables, vegan onion gravy

Dessert

• • Brioche orange marmalade bread and butter pudding, custard
