The Old Operating Theatre visit

The Old Operating Theatre Museum and Herb Garren is one of the oldest surviving operating suites (dating from 1822) and a museum of surgical history. The museum consists of the operating suite that was used in the days before anesthetics and antiseptic surgery and the herb garret to store and cure herbs used in healing. Besides this, Old Operating Theatre Museum displays artefacts that reveal the horrors of medicine and objects on medieval monastic health care, Florence Nightingale, nursing, medical and herbal medicine and the history of St Thomas’s, Guy’s Hospital and Evelina Children’s Hospital.

We will adjourn to have lunch afterwards should attendees wish to join us please indiate on the 2nd RSVP ticket so we can book places at The George, a Greene King pub,  75-77 Borough High Street, Southwark, Greater London, SE1 1N, built in 1676, is London’s only surviving galleried inn.

Bookings open on 1st January.  Please book and pay for the tour and also the optional, pay as you go, lunch RSVP ticket if you wish to join the group for lunch afterwards.
